Ps3 app not working even after switching to 16:9
Hey all, having troubles getting the plex app to work on our ps3. Initially i got the error stating it couldnt be played with the current video setting or whatever, so i looked online and found that switching to 16:9 would solve the issue. However it did not, and im at a loss on how to get this to work.. Any ideas?

Buffer Size
Hi,
Does anyone know if there's a way to increase the client buffer size used by the PS4?
If not does anyone have a list of the buffer sizes used by various clients (fire sticks, roku etc) so I know which can take the largest?

Crash CE-34878-0 when trying to play IPTV
Hi,
I've set up Plex on my PS4 and I'm watching videos from the library without any issues.
However, when I'm trying to watch IPTV (which works perfectly on the Plex server which is my laptop), I get error CE-34878-0.
Any ideas?

Plex not loading at all
Hi,
Plex is not loading at all for me on the ps4 on 4.50 PS4 software version. I tried restarting the ps4 and deleting the app but nothing helped. Can somebody point me in the right direction?

Plex Cover Art Not Displaying
Does anyone know why the cover art for some tv shows and movies is not loading despite all the metadata being there and the desktop version of plex displaying everything correctly? Is there any way to fix this?

Issues Connecting to PS3
Hello,
I have a Plex media server running at home. I'm at a different location at the moment, and am unable to access my content through a PS3 (which I have used months ago successfully to view my Plex server.) I can view my content through my MacBook as well as my iPhone, so I know the server is running. I can access Netflix on the PS3, so I know it has internet access. I am logged into my Plex account on the PS3. I can see my server in the drop down, but it's highlighted red with a "Connecting" error. When I select it, it eventually times out, and shows me a screen full of text saying how it failed trying to connect to two IPs (one external IP, which is the external IP of my home's internet, and another local IP (which is the local IP of my QNAP on my home network, but doesn't map to anything on the current network I'm on.))
Is the PS3 app somehow caching an expired IP address? Does anyone have any suggestions how I can fix this. Unfortunately I don't have physical or remote (SSH) access to my QNAP. The PS3 isn't my primary device for viewing Plex content. I only use it when visiting the folks. I'm not familiar with the current state of the PS3 Plex app, or how to possibly fix this issue. I also tried signing out and signing back into the Plex client without any luck.

PS4 App very very SLOW
Watching movies through PLEX on play station 4 is almost unusable, choppy and very slow. when I use the MEDIA PLAYER on the same PS4, the movies are super fast and no lag at all. I made a paid subscription to PLEX only for the ps4, if this issue can not be solved, I will be forced to cancel my monthly subscription

PS4 cannot connect to Plex via app
Hey all
having an issue connecting both my and my sons PS4's to Plex
an error screen comes up stating
**Unable to connect to "My DS name"
We tried to connect to:- "DS IP". You are signed in as Draig88
The selected server cannot be reached securely. An insecure connection may be possible. You can change settings>.... and try again**
I've since done this and still no luck. I've also gone through the checklist on the page at help.plex.tv/noserver
Ensure you have the current version of Plex Media Server installed - Yes
Ensure that Plex Media Server is actually actively running - Yes
Verify that your Server is listed on your Devices page - Yes (both server and both PS4's)
Disable any VPN on your computer or router - Checked and no VPN present
Disable any proxies being used on your computer or router - Checked and none found
Make sure you aren't requiring secure connections on the server while using an app that doesn't support them (see below) - Done as far as I can tell
Further checks
When both your Plex app and Plex Media Server are on the same local network:
Make sure both the Server and app are on the same subnet of the network - Yes
If your app is not on the same network as your Plex Media Server:
Ensure that Remote Access has been successfully enabled for the Server - Yes

Plex Media Server (version 0.9.16.3.1840 - cece46d) is running on Synology DS212J version with Static ip (PS4's are on dynamic IPs)
Router is a BT Smarthub (this is recent addition after my old BiPac Billion expired) and port forwarding seems to be set correctly (PC works fine as does iPad and to a lesser degree the old PS3, although it returns the error 2006 occasionally)
All PS4's can see and access the Plex Server via "Media Player" but cannot connect via the app
The app locks up after giving the error message and I cannot retry, get out or close app without pressing PS button and restarting the PS4
Everything has been rebooted after any change but still no luck

Why everything is transcoded?
Just that, everything that I want to see through plex is transcoded on the fly. But I have some videos that I prepared myself that are fully compatible with the PS3 (mp4 container, h264/avc, acc audio) that plex still transcodes. Everything on the server looks like: transcode from h264 to h264. Ok, I can understand that some videos have levels or codecs not compatible with the PS3, but having to transcode videos I already played through the PS3 natively is really bad. Even SD videos.
Please improve the compatibility.

PS4 missing a server
I have a roku and a PS4. I am connected to 2 different servers of friends. My roku shows both servers that I can connect to and see what they have on it, but my PS4 only shows one of them. It will not give me the option to find the other one. How can i connect to the other servier

Missing Server on the PS3
I have a Playstation3 and a roku, the roku shows both of the servers I have available, but when I go to my bedroom to my PS3 it only shows one of the servers. It does not give me to option to access the other one, it is not even listed.

How to stream DTS video files to the PS4 in...DTS

Has anyone figured out how to stream files and movies from the server to the PS4 in DTS at all please?
Struggling here a little and know the files are in DTS but can't get in on my PS4 and of course the amp.

Audio Codec problem for some files on PS3 and PS4
Hi i have sometimes some Movie files which i watch on the PS4 but then only the video is working and no sound. Then i tested the same on the PS3 and also the same issue. Now ii want to ask if you could add support for that codec?
I will attach the xml files of 2 files on which the sound does not work on the PS3 and PS4. On other platforms the sound works. In the Windows APP or Android App. Do you need some more information?

Upgraded server to v1.4.3.3433, now Movies show " error: 'undefined' code: '-2140536828' " on PS4
I've tried 10 different movies since upgrading my server this afternoon, I am 10/10 with error code.
Reinstalled Plex on the PS4.
Downloaded Server software and ran a repair on the install.
Rebooted server.
Enabling and Disabling DNLA.
Rolling back to an older version of server (1.3.4.3285-b46e0ea).
Enabling and disabling direct play and direct stream.
Enabling and disabling Subtitles.
Server is a Win 7 Ult. box
TV shows appear to play without issue so far, only movies seem to fail.
Movies I have played without issue on Plex before update are all failing to play.
I can provide more logging if needed. I did successfully get 1 movie out of the last 20+ to play.
Here is a fresh verbose log capture with 3 failed movie attempts.

PLEX PS4 Client (indirect) slow
Hi,
I tried to watch some movies (10/5GB) but it was very slow and buffered the whole time.
I think its connected to the fact that the connections is marked as "indirect".
The ports on my fritzbox are forwarded and I dont know what to do.
Any suggestions?

Plex on PS4 - Movie stops playing at 55:36 - Need help figuring out issue.
I need help tracking down a problem with a specific movie. The Matrix Revolutions. On the PS4 app this specific file stops playing at 55:36. The app finally kicks back saying the file failed to play.
This is repeatable every time I play this movie. I've already re-encoded from the original DVD 3 separate times using AnyDVDHD and Handbrake using MV4 container, h.264 4.1 & 4.0 settings, and ac3 audio passthrough. Here's the kicker, this movie plays perfectly on everything else. The DVD plays fine. Plex plays it fine locally, to laptop over wifi, to an iphone & ipad, and VLC Player from the local server, all without a glitch.
The PS4, stops dead at 55:36 every time and only with this movie, all 3 separate files that I tried to encode. You'd think if it were a glitch in the file it would present elsewhere but it's only on the PS4 and only this movie and it doesn't matter which file I use.
I ran defrag and chkdsk on my hdd to make sure there wasn't an error there, all came back clear. I even tried playing the file from another drive (from my ssd boot drive) same issue same place all 3 separately encoded files. I've updated the server and the ps4 app, uninstalled, reinstalled, refreshed the database on the ps4, checked and reset settings.
I'm really at wits end with this dang movie. I've been encoding my personal DVD and Blu Ray collection and I'm 100+ encodes without a glitch until now. And it's a **** of a hiccup. The only think I haven't done is try a different copy of the DVD and that's only because I don't have one handy.
Attached are the log files and xml file for the last encode. Please, if y'all have any ideas, I'd love to hear them.

Samsung TV Error: Undefined
I cannot connect to my plex server through my Samsung Smart TV, keeps coming up with Error: undefined, undefined.
I am logged in to my plex media server and I can connect from other devices, just not my TV.

PS4 Subtitles last working on PlexMediaServer-1.3.3.3148 (Synology). Now working in 1.5.1.3520!

Just a heads-up before updating to PlexMediaServer-1.3.4.3285 or PlexMediaServer-1.4.1.3362 (PlexPass).
Hardware and Versions:
- PS4 4.07
- Plex PS4 App 2.12.10 / PS4 01.40
- DS415Plus DSM 6.0.2-8451 Update 9
- Chrome 56.0.2924.87
From 1.3.3, I upgraded to PMS 1.4.1.
- I played a movie file in PS4 with subtitles and then I got this error "Undefined error -2140536828".
- I then played the same movie file in Chrome and it worked.
- I disabled subtitles and played the same movie file in PS4 and it worked.
I uninstalled 1.4.1 and installed 1.3.4.
- I played the same movie file in PS4 with subtitles and then I got this error "Undefined error -2140536828".
- I then played again the same movie file in Chrome and it worked.
- I disabled subtitles and played the same movie file in PS4 and it worked.
I uninstalled 1.3.4 and installed 1.3.3 back.
- I played the same movie file in PS4 with subtitles and it works.
The last version that works with subtitles in the PS4 is PlexMediaServer-1.3.3.3148. Tested on Synology Plex packages. I don't know if the latest releases are working fine for other servers together with PS4.

Is there any scope to change video playback speed?
I watch lectures through Plex on PS4.
My preference watching lectures is to speed up video somewhere between x1.18 and x1.45
For normal tv and movies I usually increase speed by 1.04 or so.
Any scope for this option to come to Plex, specifically the PS4 app version?
